orl mcp serve
Serve OpenRelay API tools over MCP stdio, part of the orl CLI for OpenRelay GPU VMs, pods, batches and billing.
orl mcp serve [flags]Speaks the Model Context Protocol on stdin/stdout so agent clients
(Claude Code, Claude Desktop) can call the OpenRelay API as tools.
The default exposure is a curated core set; add groups with --toolset
(see orl --help for group names) or expose everything with --all.
A tool that creates or grows a billable resource (cost class resource:
vms create, pods create, a deposit, ...) is hidden from every toolset
until --allow-spend; a tool billed per call (cost class metered: chat,
messages, embeddings, decisions, batches) stays capped at --max-cost
either way. The API key and organization resolve exactly like the rest
of the CLI (run orl auth login first). Remote HTTP transport for
hosted agents is a separate, future increment.
Flags
| Flag | Type | Required | |
|---|---|---|---|
--all | bool | no | expose every available tool regardless of toolset |
--allow-spend | bool | no | also expose tools that create or grow a billable resource (cost class resource), uncapped |
--max-cost | float64 | no | per-call cost cap in dollars on tools billed per call (cost class metered: chat, messages, embeddings, decisions, batches_create); a call may lower it, never raise it (default: ORL_MAX_COST_USD, else 1) |
--read-only | bool | no | expose only read tools (GET operations) |
--toolset | stringSlice | no | expose an additional tool group (repeatable or comma separated) |
